Lexi Allen is, in many ways, the All-American high school girl, with one exception – Lexi’s father and the Secretary of Defense are cousins and the best of friends.  This places Lexi outside the usual circle of Secret Service protection but directly in the cross hairs of Yousef Ahmed, the operations leader of the Moroccan Islamic Combatant Group.  Trained by al-Qaeda, Yousef has long been searching for a means to extract his soldiers from the covert prisons operated by the United States.  After months of planning, including the insertion of covert operatives into Lexi’s hometown and school, his three-pronged plan to take Lexi for prisoner exchange, strike a blow to Christianity, and terrorize the soft underbelly of America, has finally come to fruition.

Unbeknownst to Yousef’s six-man team, Lexi is being marked by young Secret Service trainee, Taylor Camino.  Under the cover name Allison, the agent has been assimilated into Lexi’s Catholic high school to hone her covert surveillance skills.  Alone, the agent stands little chance against a well-trained assault team, but fate is on her side.  Army Ranger and school alum Dax McLanahan has returned to visit and give a military recruiting pitch.  Together, the pair of unsuspecting heroes slows the attack, but they’ll need more firepower to rescue Lexi from Yousef’s clutches and deny him the chance to rip apart the United States from the inside out.

DOMESTIC THREATS

The CIA has been monitoring a ring of militant professors at universities within the United States for almost a decade.  With nothing more to go on than anti-establishment rhetoric, no action has been taken.  But a wave of chatter has been uncovered by the intelligence agency which indicates the network is moving from its philosophical stance to one of action.

After a briefing, President Livingston decides now is the time for the Talon Unit, led by Army Ranger Dax McLanahan.  Talon is a cross-service black ops team comprised of former special operations soldiers and Secret Service agents  tasked with hunting down threats to the United States abroad and domestically.  The force specializes in surveillance punctuated by quick-strike capability.  Walking the thin line between protecting American lives and unleashing special forces on legal citizens or legitimate foreigners is dangerous, in both the political and diplomatic realms.  McLanahan’s unit operates with the knowledge that one wrong move could not only kill innocent Americans, but also create a national scandal strong enough to destroy Livingston’s administration and erode the foundation of American freedom, causing ripples of consequence within all diplomatic circles.  But if they are too slow to act, the result could be catastrophic.

As McLanahan and his team monitor the professors and their associates at five major universities, they face the dilemma of staying close enough to stop an attack while remaining invisible to the cells.   As they watch from the shadows, it becomes clear the professors’ associates are nearing operational mode . . . and taking their orders from a mysterious leader the identity of which is unknown to the terrorist operatives themselves.

As the professors trigger their cells to attack heavily populated centers around the United States, Dax and his team race to intercept the terrorists while realizing an even greater threat looms which could change our country.  The puppet master orchestrating each of the  cells has more in mind than terror.  He aims to alter the path the United States forever.

UNITED STATES OF RECLAMATION

Thirty years in the future, China has a stranglehold on the United States of America financially and by military superiority.  With the country teetering on an economic collapse as catastrophic as the Great Depression, the Chinese government is ramping up its threats to take over the country and demanding the United States surrender unconditionally, or be destroyed.  The majority of governments around the world have no power to defend the United States, much less defeat the vast Chinese military.  And the few that would stand a fighting chance have no desire to do so.

President Noah Talbot knows he can inflict great damage on the Chinese by nuclear option as he sits in the Situation Room below the White House.  But as it becomes clear the Chinese are launching their own missile strike at the United States, Talbot and his Chiefs of Staff sit quietly together, at peace with the knowledge that they have not murdered innocent Chinese.  Collectively, they pray and hope that after their deaths the operations they have been implementing for the last seven years will somehow keep the American people alive, albeit greatly diminished.

With nearly all  major cities in the United States destroyed and the Chinese Army occupying every bit of suitable land from the Mexican border to the Arctic Circle, the United States and Canada have become Chinese colonies, tasked with feeding and supplying goods to the enormous Chinese population.  Slavery has returned to North America with no racial limitations.

As the years pass around the globe, even within China itself, movements begin to form staking claim to the American refugees with a human interest and sympathy so strong, not even China’s Army can stifle it.  As a phoenix, the Eagle rises up, laying claim to what is rightfully his and bringing vengeance from the unlikeliest of places.
